SBS 8 News reported on the risks of the absorbent pads used to soak up blood from meat.

These pads contain SAP, the same super absorbent polymer used in baby diapers and sanitary pads.

AsiaNanoTech has developed and produces EcoSAP to replace SAP, which is a microplastic. EcoSAP is a natural plant-based super absorbent made by cross-linking plant-derived cellulose and starch. It biodegrades in nature and is an eco-friendly material that is harmless to the human body.
